Just a few miles south of the City of Hamilton, you will find the town of Mount Hope. This town is a mixture of sprawling rural homesteads and urban residential communities, blending country life with city life. The majority of the homes in this area are single family dwellings. There is a combination of older homes built prior to 1960 as well as many newer homes in the area.

The average age of people living in this neighbourhood is 30-44 years old. According to the census, 52% of the households in this neighbourhood are families with children.
Mount Hope is also home to Hamilton’s John C. Munro International Airport and the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum. With this handy airport serving the community, travel is very convenient for local residents.

The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum was founded in 1972 and its purpose is to acquire, document, preserve and maintain aircraft that were flown by Canadians from the beginning of the second World War up to the present. There are approximately 50 aircraft in the museum plus a collection of books, manuals, artifacts and other documents. One of the local favourite Canadian aircrafts is the Lancaster.
Eileen Vollick was Canada’s first licensed woman pilot and a plaque in her honor is proudly displayed outside the museum.
