Exploring the Meadowlands of Ancaster

Banners 1 1024x256 - Exploring the Meadowlands of Ancaster

The Ancaster Meadowlands is located between the Lincoln Alexander Parkway (LINC) and Highway 403 to the north, Garner Road to the south, Stone Church Road to the east, and Southcote Road to the west. The Meadowlands is both one of the wealthiest and culturally diverse neighbourhoods within the City of Hamilton.

This neighbourhood, geographically, is very large. After being predominantly a corn field for many years, residential homes began being built in approx 1989-1990. The construction has now continued in the Meadowlands for more than 3 decades. Most of the older homes are closer to Golf Links Road., with predominantly newer construction near Garner Road and Stone Church Road. The density of this neighbourhood was well-planned with mix of single detached homes that range from 1100 square feet to over 4000 square feet, while incorporating more affordable townhomes and a few low rise executive style apartment buildings.

FUN FACT: I lived on Southcote Road from the age of 9-14. At that time, there was a large corn field across from our house and the Ancaster Fairgrounds up the road. I felt like we lived out in the “boonies”…Things sure have changed over the years!
