As I travel throughout the city of Hamilton and blog about different neighbourhoods, there are certain ones that have outstanding characteristics. The Berrisfield Neighbourhood has an abundance of mature, tree lined streets, adding to the beauty of this residential neighbourhood making it a great place to call home.

Nora Frances Henderson Secondary School is currently located at 75 Palmer Road. This school is named after Nora Henderson, a Hamiltonian, that urged local women to take an active interest in community political affairs. As a result, in 1919, women were appointed to the Hamilton Hospital Board. She was the first woman ever elected to Hamilton’s City Council.

Both schools are located back to back and share green space with Bobby Kerr Park.

Bobby Kerr Park is located at 100 Reno Avenue. It has facilities for a variety of sports. With it’s paved pathways from the street to the playground, it is wheelchair accessible. The park was named after Hamilton’s Robert Kerr, who won the gold medal in the 200 metres and the bronze medal in the 100 metres at the 1908 Summer Olympics.
